WE ARE ALWAYS COLLECTING SUPPLIES FOR SURVIVAL PACKS FOR THE HOMELESS
We pack school-style backpacks with food and clothing. On weekends we seek out the homeless and hand them the survival packs. We don't set up tables and wait for the homeless to find us. We are proactive and service the homeless who can't get to shelters and soup kitchens.
WHO WE ARE
Founded in November of 2013 by Jeff & Mary Hocking, the COE is made up of a group of volunteers who have come together in order to better serve the homeless population of metro Detroit and surrounding areas. We have a six member board of directors consisting of Michael Hocking, Tom Costello, Jason Artman, Carleen Lunsford and Jeff & Mary Hocking.
WHAT WE DO
Since 2013 the COE has been providing 200 SurvivalPaks to the homeless on the streets of metro-Detroit every single month. We pack school-style backpacks with basic supplies needed to live on the streets; warm socks, winter hats, ski gloves, scarves, compact blankets, underwear, along with hand warmers, toiletries, toilet paper, lip balm and lots of non perishable food items.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Since we exist through private donations and receive no local, state or federal funding, the best way to help us continue providing for the homeless are cash donations. While we happily accept donations of goods for the SurvivalPaks and have many collection boxes placed all over the metro-Detroit area, we have become experts at buying exactly what we need in bulk at the most cost effective rates possible.

The Congregation of Every 1 was founded as a congregation of people, not worshippers, not even followers, simply of individuals seeking a sense of community and a more efficient and direct means to help others.
We are a diverse, cohesive group of thoughtful, insightful and helpful people joined together in a community we share with and find support from that is not tied to any specific religious dogma.
We foster self-confidence, self-esteem and give a voice to those who normally stand alone.
We promote charity, kindness and personal strength, without the need or the promise of any spiritual reward.
A congregation rooted in the reality that life in itself is amazing and embedded in friendship and growth of the individual and our community.
